Emily's Loss

Emily, the name, he whispers in her ear;
My Dear, I LOVE YOU, the only words to hear;

His breath is warm and tingles her skin;
He must become, the last of her men;

His touch is soft, his eyes are kind;
He feels her body, blows her mind;

Always listens, does his best;
Never hurts eve-n in jest;

He cooks, he cleans, he rubs her feet;
He makes sure every day's a treat;

Flowers on Wednesday, Trips to the mall;
Anything for his baby, he buys it all;

She thinks of these upon his touch;
She'll always love him, very much;

Perfection grand, the one for her;
She opens her eyes, to what once were;

The things she had, the life she made;
The one that's lost, the price she paid;

Like smoke in wind, her memory fades;
Her heart grows cold, her love then jades;

For what he wanted, she won't give;
So with her decision, she must live;

Without his kids, without his life;
She lost her chance, to be his wife;

Alone she sits, her mind will say;
You made the worst mistake that day;

Notes:  This one shows how a woman who has everything can ruin it with pride.  She is left only with the memories of how great she actually had it before she wanted more and more.  Everyone has a breaking point and too often it is seen how quickly those memories can fade when it is all that is left.
