From Fighter To Frightened

I'd burn a bridge for you, just to speak your name;
I'd torch the sky and wish to die, just to give you fame;

I'd write a thousand sonnets, for your approving smiles;
For you I'd walk on broken glass, for many many miles;

For you I'd kill I'd steal I'd beg, I'd even sell myself;
Just so long as you would keep me off a dusty shelf;

For your attention I would dance, I'd sing and I would clap;
I'd hunt, I'd farm, I'd irrigate, I'd even set a trap;

To please you I would cook and clean, I'd spic and I would span;
I'd rub your feet and kiss your hand, to just be called your man;

Without a thought I'd pave the way, for you to have your wish;
I'd pull a plow just like a horse, or swim just like a fish;

There's nothing that I wouldn't do, just to make you mine;
I would do whatever it takes, to know that we are fine;

An empty hollow shell, of what was once a man;
Is what I'd turn myself in to, if you'd just be my fan;

I'd sacrifice my body, mind and soul for you;
But you would leave me, empty-alone, like all the others do;

You're just a stupid little girl, who's not worth HALF my love...



Closing thoughts:

Some guys will do anything for a girl.  ANYTHING and really for ANY girl.  Things aren't always as they seem and if you override a gut feeling that says something is probably wrong with her and let her cloud your thoughts, you'll give and give and give until she's gotten every last drop of your pride and will leave the shell to rot and grovel for her.

So in closing, MEN... be just that... MEN!  Don't let anyone, any woman change you from who you are just because you are lonely, miserable, bored, or depressed.  Stick to your guns and the right woman will love you for who you are, not for who she thinks you can become after she "fixes" you.  Nobody should be anybody's "project" for any reason.
